Choose a positive attitudeWhen you first wake up in the morning what do you say to yourself? As you lay your head to rest at night, what goes through your mind?

A positive mind helps to create a happy life! Believe it or not, achieving a state of natural happiness is something that has to be worked at (just like loosing those last 5 pounds at the gym!) and the first step to achieving such happiness is through your attitude.

How you perceive your life and the events pertaining to your life can drastically alter your state of emotional, physical and mental well being.

Boby McFerrin said it best when he first sang the lyrics to his song…

Don’t Worry Be Happy’

Here’s a little song I wrote,
you might want to sing it note for note,
don’t worry, be happy

in every life we have some trouble,
when you worry you make it double
don’t worry, be happy

Life is about those inevitable highs and those unfortunate lows and there is no controlling that, but you CAN control your reaction to them and your reaction will largely determine your level of happiness.

Choose a positive attitude!It was 1999, and my life stunk. I had failed miserably as a missionary for my church, I’d been sent to a mental hospital and diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and I was in the process of losing the woman I thought I was going to marry.

I was in bad shape, and didn’t have a clue as to how I could right the ship, so to speak. Now, 13 years later, I have a great job that provides for me and my family. I have a beautiful wife, two lovely children (with another on the way!), and plenty of free time to pursue the hobbies I enjoy.

I have a roof over my head, food to eat, and thanks to a few tiny little pills I take every day I also enjoy good physical and mental health. I don’t want to leave you with the impression that everything changed completely overnight. It didn’t.
