Take A Walk On The Passionate, Purposeful Side Of Life

We’ve all been there before…

You set our scope on a big, new shiny purchase or trip. Something you really, really want and desire. It’s almost like the little kid inside of you is begging for it!

Maybe it’s your dream car or at least a shiny, brand-spankin’ new car that you’ve set your sights on and you have no intention of setting your sights elsewhere anytime soon.

Then the strangest thing happens to you…Without changing how you live your daily life, you start seeing these cars everywhere. And I mean, EVERYWHERE!

When you’re driving to and from work, you see this car at least twice, if not 5 times or more. You pull into your usual parking spot, and you notice this car model a couple of stalls down.

Were these cars always there or are they brand new?

Now I could talk about why this phenomena holds true in many scenarios (Try NOT to find as people as possible wearing a read shirt today and keep track of how many red shirts you actually see!) but that’s not what this blog post is about…

It’s about something much more exciting and significant 🙂

Over this past weekend, I had the “shiny car” or “red shirt” syndrome happen to me and I’ve been inspired to share it with you here.

As you may or may not know, Alex and I are on a mission to help women find their J-Spot (where their passions, strengths and vision for their life and business all overlap!) and build thriving online communities around their J-Spot to make money doing what they LOVE.

We first thought of this idea over 2 years ago and that’s when the concept of Juicy Geniuses began to take form. We knew we were on to something and couldn’t wait to share our discovery with the world!

As it turns out, we’re not the only ones who have discovered this blissful way to live life (of course we knew there were other people out there who thought the same way as us) but it’s absolutely amazing to see that this school of thought is spreading more and more each day.

I had 4 instances in less than 24 hours that totally made my heart sing when I came across similar messages and it fired me up even more because it confirmed the power of of what we’re doing (not that you should ever need external confirmation to move forward with an idea of yours, but it’s awesome to find out that there are likeminded folk out there!) and that this school of thought truly is spreading faster than wildfires right now.

The main message I’m talking about is how truly important it is to “Do what you love and love what you do!”.

Instance #1)

Take this article I was reading in the Huffington Post by Somik Raha called, “The Purpose of Business is the Business of Purpose.”

In this article Raha talks about why “business strategy that focuses exclusively on the head while ignoring the heart won’t work, for it becomes dry and lacks the motivating power to inspire people to dream up amazing ideas and make them happen.”

Furthermore, Raha shares that according to Dan Pink (author of best-selling book Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us), “”purpose” is one of the top three things that actually motivate people, along with “autonomy” and “mastery.””

He then wraps up his article beautifully with a quote from Henry Ford that says, “Business must be run at a profit, else it will die. But when anyone tries to run a business solely for profit … then the business must die as well, for it no longer has a reason for existence.”

This article confirms that if you’re in it solely for the moola, your business will never achieve it’s full potential and you’ll never be able to reach the people who need to hear your message the most.

My good friend Michelle Ghilotti, whom I was in touch with over the weekend, runs a branding company that is centred on heartful, haute and magnetic branding. Her tagline says it best, “Make Happiness Your Business by Creating Your Authentic Brand.” and she completely agrees that loving what you do and living on purpose, day in and day out, is key to modern day fulfillment and success.

Instance #3)

Ok, so here’s the next thing that really spoke to me. Danielle LaPorte (LOVE this lady!) shared a KickStarter project for a documentary she was interviewed in called “I’m Fine Thanks”. 5 filmmakers hit the road and started interviewing people across the US and Canada to dig deeper into the minds of people who are living their life, their own way and making their own dreams come true.

I donated to this project because I believe it’s documentaries like this that will help spread this message to the masses and this message is NEEDED!

You don’t need to donate, but at least watch the trailer here…it’s pretty awesome and I hope it inspires you like it inspired me.

Then onto the 4th a-ha! moment of the last 24 hours…

A few weeks ago I ordered Brendon Burchard’s new book, “The Charge”. I’ve met him before and I’m a huge fan of his work so naturally I was excited when he had a new book coming out.

I forgot I ordered the book but thankfully when I returned home, his new book was waiting for me and I cracked the seal (or in this case, the stiff, new-book spine, *bliss*) and immersed myself in a dose of energy and motivation.

Brendon’s new book is all about living a “Charged Life” which means “a heightened existence that makes you feel energized, engaged, and enthusiastic about living.”

There are 10 Charges that Brendon discusses in this book (I’ll share a book summary when I’m done!) but it is completely obvious that living a life of passion and purpose is key to achieving this “Charge”.

Regardless of how you’re living your life right now or how you’ve lived your life in the past, one thing is certain.

There is a HUGE shift taking place right now where people are moving away from working solely for dolla, dolla bills to pursuing their passions and life long dreams and working on projects that make them feel alive, energized and ready to take on the world.

This has been happening for awhile, but now more than ever, there are writers, film makers, coaches, teachers and “gurus” spreading this message and I’m so happy to be a part of it.

  • You don’t need to rich.
  • You don’t need to have a clear plan.
  • You don’t need to be the top expert in an industry.
  • And you don’t need to have experience running your own business.

All you need is passion and a purpose SO strong coupled with the belief in yourself that you CAN do it to set the wheels in motion to creating the life (yes, you’ll actually start LIVING) that you long for.

It’s not going to be easy and you might have no idea how it’s going to happen, but when you’re on purpose and committed to your vision, the right people and opportunities will appear in your life and magic will unfold.

Believe me, or not.

I’m just sharing what I know to be true for me and I am SO very happy to see this way of life manifesting for other people too 🙂

XO & Juicy Love,

Leanne Kallal
