Spiritual awakening and living a life of purpose don’t need to be dull. You can live a joyful, juicy life, and celebrate like a master!
Gratitude. That’s mostly what I felt after attending an incredible event in August. Hosted by Tami Simon and SoundsTrue Productions, The inaugural WakeUp Festival 2012 was BIG, JUICY and deeply meaningful.
With some 800 attendees from around the globe, and some of today’s most inspiring spiritual leaders, it was a privilege to be a part of the energy such a community generates!
A Cast of Stellar Teachers
From Trance Yoga with the incomparable Shiva Rae, Trance Dancing to the mixes of DJ Alex Theory, and blissful kirtan with Snatam Kaur … to ecstatic inspiration from Michael Bernard Beckwith, Shamanic Journeying with Sandra Ingerman and wise guidance from Gangaji, Adyashanti, Caroline Myss and other master teachers, this was a stellar event!
And speaking of stars …
If you love Phantom of the Opera you’d have been as gob-stopped as of the rest of us when the Phantom himself, along with his Leading Lady (and longest running ‘Christine’ on Broadway) Sandra Joseph, sang one of the show’s most popular love songs for us all.
Why Wake Up?
So what is this idea of ‘waking up’ and why do it? In a nutshell, to awaken, as the Buddhists teach, is to liberate yourself from the suffering that’s part-n-parcel to an ego-identified life. And the WakeUp Festival was an opportunity to learn concepts and practical skills for your own liberation.
But unlike the ancient teachings of Masters long ago, what many of the teachers and best-selling authors presenting at WakeUp now share, is that living Awake is anything but dull. Living awake lets you live a more juicy, meaningful life. Living awake lets you celebrate everything, rather than get bogged down in drama, drudgery or distress over the challenges life inevitably throws your way.
The Good News
The good news is, if you missed the Inaugural WakeUp Festival, you can join the joy next year. And you won’t regret it! Held in the breath-taking locale of Estes Park, Colorado (and at an altitude of almost 9,000 feet, breathtaking is more than a nice adjective :D) surrounded by stunning peaks and wonderful peeps, you too can nurture a life of purpose, and celebrate that beautiful, one-of-a-kind, awakening YOU.
